Through the ages, a fine rug has remained
an important part of Eastern culture and a symbol of civilization.
A well-made, beautiful rug is much more than a floor or
wall covering. It is an accent and historical heirloom
that tells a story about another time and far-away place
with exotic locales and superb styling.
For almost two decades, Tajzoy Oriental
Rugs has brought to its clients hand-woven rugs made of
fine wool and silks in various color palettes suitable
for today's décor. Assad Tajzoy understands the
craftsmanship that is a part of every rug in his collection,
and has spent a lifetime perfecting his knowledge.
In Afghanistan, Tajzoy's family made
their living in the import/export business. With a desire
to improve his knowledge of industry and commerce, he
studied for a master's degree in international economics
at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Along the way,
Tajzoy worked for a carpet service company and began to
understand why customer service married with exceptional
product is a vital part of any successful endeavor.
Tajzoy brought his skill and expertise
to Dallas in 1983, and opened Tajzoy Oriental Rugs in
the Dallas Design Center. Catering to a world-wide, diverse
clientele of interior designers and their customers, he
takes personal pride in educating and helping his clients
appreciate the value of older, antique
rugs, intricate Aubussons,
Savonneries, Tapestries
and 20th-Century
contemporary rugs woven in the far East.
It is Tajzoy's dedication to quality
and customer service, as well as knowledge of design and
colors, that has made him one of the few distinguished
Oriental Rug dealers in the country. Tajzoy is also one
of the few rug dealers who is a member of the Oriental
Rug Retailer Association (ORRA), and brings the collective
knowledge of the organization to his own business environment.
A visit with Tajzoy Oriental Rugs and their diverse collection
of rugs is a journey through a lifetime of artistry and
attention to detail.
