On November 24, 2021, Wuxi Jigan Precision Technology Co., Ltd. (“Jigan Precision”) was officially listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange, becoming the first company from Wuxi to be listed there. Through years of deep engagement in precision component manufacturing, Jigan Precision has grown rapidly. Its products are now used in electric tools, cleaning appliances and automobiles, and the company has been recognized by many well-known domestic and international brand manufacturers and entered their supply chain systems.
As carbon-emission-related policies continue to be introduced, the electrification of automobiles is accelerating, and electrification and lightweighting have become the main development directions of the automotive industry. From the perspective of cost and utility, aluminum alloy will become a mainstream material for automotive lightweighting. From the perspective of manufacturing processes and performance, aluminum alloy manufacturing processes are relatively mature and can use technologies such as hot stamping and die casting. Aluminum reserves are large, corrosion resistance is good, and recycling levels are high. Therefore, aluminum alloy materials have outstanding advantages in utility and cost as automotive components.
Jigan focuses on precision casting and has rich experience in the aluminum-zinc alloy die-casting industry. However, as the impact of the pandemic and the broader environment continued to expand, optimizing product structure and increasing profit contribution became especially important, and building an intelligent workshop became an inevitable choice. In 2020, Jigan Precision chose to cooperate deeply with MasterLink Intelligent Technology, a local Wuxi company focused on intelligent manufacturing solutions for machining and also a “Little Giant” enterprise.
Through intelligent transformation, Jigan Precision greatly improved production efficiency, reduced manufacturing and labor costs, significantly enhanced profitability, and increased profit contribution. In 2020, the company’s return on net assets reached 55%, and in the same year it also received honors including Wuxi Intelligent Workshop and Jiangsu Province Four-Star Cloud Enterprise.
MasterLink’s data collection platform has market-leading data collection capabilities, with experience collecting data from 50,000+ devices, delivering 500+ production line systems and 200+ discrete systems, and can cover 95% of equipment on the market. Jigan has hundreds of various devices. Through data collection, MasterLink analyzes equipment status data (including alarms), process data and parameter data.
As Jigan General Manager Zhou Yan said, “With the arrival of labor shortages and hiring difficulties, we must reduce manpower and move toward unmanned operations. If you are a step or several years late on this, you will have no way to compete with peers.”
As an expert focused on intelligent manufacturing solutions for metal processing, MasterLink is committed to guiding more related enterprises to embrace digital transformation, and is willing to work with more partners to jointly push the digital transformation process of China’s metal processing industry to a new level.
